99 Things I Think of Before I Sleep

Description

Collaborating with Lianne always presents a challenge, and this time was no exception, perhaps even more daunting than before. When she approached me with a script outline that envisioned a film featuring child actors (a 4-year-old and a newborn), fireworks, animals (chickens), and underwater scenes—all to be shot within four days—I was momentarily overwhelmed. However, grounded in mutual trust and previous successes, I believed not only in our ability to complete the project but also in our potential to craft a work that would fill us with pride.

"99 Things I Think of Before I Sleep" felt like an amalgamation and amplification of all the elements present in Lianne's prior works. Rooted in her personal experiences and emotions, the script came to life shortly after her recovery from a mental health facility, providing her with significant motivation and strength. Upon receiving the first draft, I was aware that we were embarking on a story and concept that might polarize, but my faith in Lianne's vision was unwavering. I saw her storytelling as unique and her narrative voice as distinct.

The production of this film demanded a colossal effort and workforce. In a remarkably short period, we transformed an entire sound stage to meet the ambitious scale of Lianne's vision. I couldn't be prouder of the art team led by Bomin and Ari, who executed her requirements and vision to near perfection, earning visual acclaim. Completing this film instilled in me a newfound confidence: there seems to be no project I cannot produce in this world
